Story on Extravagance

A long time ago, Rishabh was a boy of about 20 years and lived in a colony in Calcutta.

His father used to run a furnace in which he cooked and cooked milk to make khoya.

Although Rishabh was a good boy but he had a bad habit of extravagance.  He would often ask Dad for money and spend it eating or drinking or watching movies.

One day father called Rishabh and said, "Look son, you have grown up now and you should understand your responsibilities.  The days that you keep asking me for money and blowing it up and down are not good. "

"What father!  Which I take a thousand rupees from you… for a little money you are giving me such a big lecture… so I can return the money to you whenever I want. ”, Rishabh said annoyed.

Dad got angry after hearing Rishabh's talk, but he understood that nothing will be done by scolding.  That is why he said, "This is a very good thing ... Do it so much that you don't give me more than just one rupee daily and give it."

Rishabh smiled and walked away from there feeling himself victorious.

The next day when Rishabh reached father in the evening, he said on seeing him, "Son, bring me 1 rupee."

On hearing her, Rishabh got scared and quickly returned with a money from her grandmother.

"Take father, I brought you one rupee!", And while saying this, he put the coin in Dad's hand.

On taking it, Dad threw the coin in the furnace.

"Ye kya, why did you do this?", Rishabh asked surprised.

 Dad said-

What should you do with this, you should mean by just giving 1 rupee, then whatever I do.

Rishabh also did not argue much and went quietly from there.

The next day when father asked for 1 rupee from him, he asked his mother for money… The same process went on for several days, he would take money from a friend or friend every day and give it to father and he would throw it in the furnace.

Then one day came, when everyone refused to give him money.  Rishabh started worrying that now he will give father one rupee from where.

Evening was going to happen, he could not understand what to do!  He did not want to bear the shame of not giving even one rupee.  Only then did he see a middle-aged laborer who was moving from a rickshaw to a passenger to be pulled by hand.

"Listen brother, will you let me pull this rickshaw for a while?"  In return for that I will just take one rupee from you ”, Rishabh told the rickshawk.

The rickshawman was very tired, he got ready immediately.

Rishabh starts pulling rickshaw!  This work was harder than he thought… His palms were blisters in just a short distance, feet also started hurting!  Well somehow he completed his work and in return earned 1 rupee from himself for the first time in life.

Today he reached out to his father with great pride and put 1 rupee in his palm.

As usual, Dad raised his hand to throw it in the furnace.

"Stop, Dad!", Rishabh said, holding on to Dad's hand, "you can't throw it away!  This is my hard-earned money. "

And Rishabh narrated the whole story.

Dad went ahead and hugged his son.

"look son!  For so many days I was throwing coins in the fire furnace, but you did not stop me even once, but today when you saw your hard earned money going into the fire, you were absolutely terrified.  In the same way, when you spend my hard-earned money in worthless things, I feel the same pain, I am also nervous… so understand the value of money whether it is yours or someone else…. Never waste it.  Don't be rude! "

Rishabh had understood Dad's point, he immediately touched his feet and apologized for his behavior.  Today he understood the value of one rupee and he vowed in his heart that now he will never waste money.

Moral of the story -

Don't waste money 💰 whether it is yours or someone else because it takes too much effort to earn.
